AYUSHMAN BHARAT AND STATE’S PLAN TO SCALE UP EXECUTION

Last year Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched Ayushman Bharat from the soil of Jharkhand. In a bid to scale up implementation of the game- changer scheme, we will be distributing golden cards to 57 lakh families of the State soon.

We were given a target to distribute golden cards to 25 lakh families by the Centre last year. A total of 32 lakh families have been added up to the scheme under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Raghubar Das. A total of 2 crore 19 lakh patients availed treatment facilities at both private and government hospitals under the scheme till date. There are 429 private hospitals and 219 government hospitals which have been empanelled under the scheme.

The State Government has spent an amount of Rs 215 crore to facilitate care under the scheme. We are also working to set up health and wellness centres in rural areas. Best part is not only initiatives are being announced but the Government also ensures its execution.

MOHALLA CLINICS AND BIKE AMBULANCE TO BOLSTER CARE

The State Government is also working on plan to set up Mohalla clinics where doctors will sit for two hours, providing treatment facilities to patients. In addition, plans are afoot to start bike ambulance and 100 telemedicine centres soon.

To encourage private providers, we have decided to provide a series of concessions. Those 300-bed hospitals having 20 acre land would be provided a fund of Rs 30 crore, free road facility upto five kilometers and electricity.

PRIMARY HEALTHCARE

We have started imparting training to 200 community health workers in naxal hit-Palamu district. With 20 days training, they are now being equipped in terms of knowledge to facilitate basic care in villages. Soon, we will be recruiting these workers for whole state to bolster primary care delivery system. In addition, the government is also working to open more medical colleges to train medical graduates.

I invite all state private agencies to join our mission to improve healthcare infrastructure in Jharkhand.

3 Men On Bike Shoot At Passengers In Car In Bihar To Loot Gold; 1 Dead.

Source – ndtv.com

BEGUSARAI: Three men on bike shot one person dead and seriously injured two others before running away with gold in Bihar’s Begusarai district on Tuesday, police said.

Jewellers Prince Kumar and Santosh Kumar were injured in the incident whereas their car driver, 25-year-old Deepak Mahto, was killed, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Sinha said, adding that the businessmen have been hospitalised.

Per initial estimates, around one kilogram of gold ornaments were looted, he said.

The incident took place near Thakurichak under Garhhara police station limits when the two jewellers were coming to Begusarai in a car after alighting from a train at Barauni railway station, Mr Sinha said.

The three men on bike blocked the car’s way and indiscriminately fired at the passengers inside, killing the driver on the spot and injuring the businessmen, the officer said.

The exact amount of the looted ornaments could be ascertained once the jewellers regain consciousness, he said. Police is investigating the case and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused, he added.

Bodhi Tree Concerts Brings ‘All Is Calm’ Back To Veterans Museum.

Source – kpbs.org

Bodhi Tree Concerts has smartly placed its production of “All is Calm” between Veteran’s Day and Christmas since the choral opera touches on both themes.

Bodhi Tree Concerts has a mission to perform intentional acts of kindness through music. At a time when America seems polarized, “All is Calm” serves up a story of enemies coming together to find a shared humanity.

“Because the news of the day is pretty rough and we look to these soldiers who were sworn enemies they were killing each other and they could find a common humanity and they found it through singing through music.” said Bodhi Tree Concerts co-founder Diana DuMelle. “And for us as individuals and us as an organization, Bodhi Tree Concerts it’s what we’re founded on, finding enlightenment and understanding through music.”

“All is Calm” recounts the Christmas Truce of 1914 when enemy soldiers were brought together by song in no man’s land during World War I. After partnering with San Diego Opera last December to do the show at the Balboa Theater, this year Bodhi Tree is going solo and returning to a smaller venue.

“We will be returning to our venue for the first two productions of the Veterans Museum,” said singer and co-founder Walter DuMelle. “Much more intimate space holds 150-200 people only, the artists will be feet from the first row of audience. So you will be right there in the trenches with the soldiers. So it’s a very immediate performance venue and there’s an immediate emotional connection to the audience, which we as artists also have to be mindful of because we see their reactions literally right in front of us. When you see a 80-something-year-old vet start to choke up in the middle of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ you do have to check a certain amount of your own emotion at the door realizing that the piece is serving its purpose.”

Bodhi Tree Concerts selects a charity or organization to donate profits to and fittingly money from this show will benefit the Veterans Museum.

“It’s a really special museum,” Diana DuMelle said. “If you haven’t been there I highly recommend it. It’s lovingly cared for and it also has a local lens. It’s the stories and artifacts that come from local families and local veterans, and it’s also run by veterans and most of them are volunteers. And it’s really touching to be there and they welcome us with open arms.”

“All is Calm” opens this weekend at the Veteran’s Museum and then moves to The Village Church for a performance on Nov. 23.

MS Dhoni chills out with friends in Ranchi.

Source – crictracker.com

While the rest of Indian cricket may feel anxious and curious about his future, former India captain MS Dhoni seems to be least concerned. The 38-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman who last played for India in the ICC World Cup in England hasn’t yet called it quits from international cricket and that has kept everybody, from the administrators to the supporters, guessing. And recently, the ‘cool’ cricketer was seen chilling out with his biker friends on the streets of Ranchi.

On Saturday, Dhoni joined the birthday celebrations of his childhood friend Seemant Lohani at his farmhouse at Kailashpati on the outskirts of Ranchi. His friends gathered on the occasion and the ace cricketer was seen busy smearing cake on his friend’s face. Dhoni recently was present at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi where he met his India teammates as they took on South Africa in a Test match. Earlier this year, too, Dhoni had invited the Indian cricketers at his farmhouse after they visited his hometown to play against Australia in an ODI.

MS Dhoni hasn’t played for India after World Cup 2019

Dhoni has kept himself away from the national assignments ever since India crashed out of the World Cup in July. He went for military training during India’s tour of the West Indies and also gave the subsequent series against South Africa and Bangladesh a miss. He may be seen featuring in India’s home series against the West Indies next month and particularly the poor form of Rishabh Pant has encouraged his fans. They are even hopeful that Dhoni will end up playing in the T20 World Cup in Australia next year.

Former captain Sourav Ganguly, who took over as the president of the BCCI last month, clarified that he was going to have a discussion with Dhoni over his retirement issue. Ganguly also conceded that the right to retire is Dhoni’s personal one.

With over 10,000 runs in the 50-over format, Dhoni has won India the world titles in both the 20 and 50-over formats since 2007. He has also won India the Champions Trophy besides a multilateral ODI tournament and bilateral T20I series in Australia.

BJP’s ally problem in poll-bound Jharkhand.

Source – indiatoday.in

For the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which lost an opportunity to form a government in Maharashtra because of the difficult attitude of ally Shiv Sena, it may not be an end of story in terms of problems from partners as it was facing a similar situation in poll-bound Jharkhand too.

In Jharkhand, where elections to its 81-member Assembly will be held in five phases from November 30, the BJP will have to fight against one of its oldest alliance partners, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), which has decided to contest separately on all the seats in the state.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had made the party’s stand clear during the national council meeting last week in New Delhi, where he was re-elected as the JD-U chief for a second consecutive time.

A senior JD-U leader said the party will contest independently in the five-phased Jharkhand Assembly polls and not in alliance with the BJP.

The JD-U has a history of snubbing the BJP.

In 2013, after the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was projected as the BJP’s Prime Ministerial face, the JD-U opposed the move and walked out of the alliance.

After the debacle in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the JD-U stitched a Grand Alliance with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress in the state for the 2015 Assembly polls.

The Grand Alliance comprising the three parties cornered the BJP in the Assembly polls in the state. However in June 2017, the JD-U walked out of the alliance and again joined the NDA to form a government in the state.

The BJP and the JD-U contested on equal number of seats in the state during the Lok Sabha polls. However, the Nitish Kumar-led party did not join the Cabinet over differences on the respectable representation in the government.

Following the snubbing at the Centre, Nitish Kumar also did not gave more prominence to the BJP in the state in his cabinet expansion.

The JD-U also did not back the Modi government’s ambitious Triple Talaq Bill in Parliament.

On the other hand, the BJP is also facing an uphill task of gaining the trust of other allies in the state.

The BJP had the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) as an alliance partner in the state till 2012. But the JMM also ditched the BJP and joined hands with the Congress in the state.

The Grand Alliance consisting of the JMM-Congress and the RJD have already announced their alliance in the state with Soren as its Chief Ministerial candidate.

The JMM will be contesting on 43 seats while the Congress 31, leaving the rest of the seven seats to the RJD.

The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly is set to go for a five-phased election from November 30 to December 20. The counting of votes will take place on December 23.

Murder, Rs 130-crore scam accused: BJP fields tainted candidates in Jharkhand polls.

Source – indiatoday.in

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which generally talks about morality in politics, seems to be going the opposite way in the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. A lot of candidates belonging to other parties earlier have been given tickets by the party and it also includes some of those who have serious allegations of corruption against them.

Two candidates who recently joined the BJP are Bhanu Pratap Shahi, who was a minister in Madhu Koda’s government and is now the BJP candidate from Bhavnathpur Assembly constituency and is accused in a Rs 130 crore medicine scam. The second is Shashi Bhushan Mehta, who has been given the ticket from Panki and is accused of killing a teacher working in his school.

As per court sources, the chargesheet submitted by the CBI and the ED in the 2008 medicine scam has the name of Bhanu Pratap Shahi, who has been included in the first list of 52 candidates by the BJP.

According to sources, the government made a provision to purchase medicines from public sector undertakings under the National Rural Health Mission but Shahi, during the Madhu Koda government, defied the rules and purchased a huge quantity of medicines from private companies.

Shahi was arrested in this case in 2011 and is out on bail since 2013. Sources say that Shahi is an accused in a money laundering case also. The BJP leaders are also not happy with the party for giving tickets to such people. This is the reason Anant Pratap Dev, a former MLA from Bhawanthpur constituency, quit the BJP and joined the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU).

“I never thought that the party which used to talk about morality is now giving tickets to the tainted leaders. Everyone knows about corruption during the Madhu Koda government. The BJP in the state won the elections on the issue of corruption only. Bhanu Pratap Shahi is facing several charges and all these things were ignored,” Dev told IANS.

Mehta, accused of killing a teacher of his school, joined the BJP in October and has been given the ticket from Panki whereas there has been no announcement on giving a ticket to the whistleblower in the fodder scam and senior BJP minister Saryu Rai.
